A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DIAGNOSTICS TECHNICIAN / MECHANIC
As a Diagnostics Technician / Mechanic, you are a vital member of our auto repair team. Each day, you come to work ready to diagnose and repair difficult automotive issues. When our customers come in with a car that’s moaning, squeaking, or clunking, you know exactly what to do. You rely on scanners and our other cutting-edge tools to help you perform drivability diagnostics, but you also count on the finely honed instincts you’ve gained through years of experience.
Once you pinpoint the problem, you remove the troublesome part and replace it with the perfect one for the make and model of the car. We pride ourselves on treating each vehicle as if it’s our own, and so you work with an attentive eye to make sure everything is just as you would like it yourself. Some problems are trickier to solve than others, but you don’t mind because you enjoy the challenge. Bettering your skills is a priority for you, and you enjoy helping our shop make small improvements each day that increase our efficiency. 100% customer satisfaction is our goal, and you are proud to help us achieve it!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DIAGNOSTICS TECHNICIAN / MECHANIC
- 3+ years of experience with advanced automotive theories and principles
- Advanced knowledge about the use of hand tools
- Ability to perform C-type maintenance
- Ability to use scanners and identify abnormal automotive noises
- Ability to remove and replace a water pump, transmission, engine, and various suspension components
- Advanced knowledge about engine teardown, including both automatic and manual transmissions
- Knowledge of emissions control systems and Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) laws
Possession of ASE certification and Smog certification would be a plus. Knowledge about Mitchell 1, Alldata, and Identifix software would be a bonus. The ability to perform smog tests and diagnose failures would also be a strong plus.

WORK SCHEDULE
This position enjoys a work-life balanced schedule of Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.
