After the diesel emissions fiasco, Volkswagen has done a full 180, and has jumped into the electric car race. Recently it has unveiled its Volkswagen ID 3 – a fully electric vehicle. But what is more significant is that it is committed to mass production of electric vehicles. While Tesla produces around 500,000 electric vehicles per year, Volkswagen promises to build over 1.2 million electric vehicles per year by 2022 and increase that capacity to over 20 million electric vehicles per year by 2028. Just in time for the September 2019 Frankfurt Auto Motor Show, Volkswagen is expected to unveil in Frankfurt its newest car - electric Volkswagen ID.3 Needless to say, details of the vehicle are hard to discern, but it is an electric vehicle so we can expect it to be a lively, fun to drive car. MINI COOPER – 60 YEARS OLD!

Yes, the first MINI was introduced in Great Britain in August, 1959. That’s 60 years ago! The original MINI came in two versions: Morris Mini-Minor and Austin Seven, with minimal differences between the two. The price tag was £497 of which £147 was the British “purchase tax”. From the very beginning, MINI was a lively, fun to drive vehicle. Fuel efficient, it was a welcome sight to the drivers still brutalized by the fuel shortages created by the 1957 Suez Canal crisis. Today, 60 years later, Mini remains a sporty, fun car to drive.
