VOLKSWAGEN INDUSTRIAL CLOUD – IMPROVED VW?

May, 2020—Volkswagen is not only betting its future on electric cars (we talked about this in our previous blog posts) but it is also working on restructuring its manufacturing processes through creation of an Industrial Cloud, which is supposed to improve efficiency of its manufacturing plants, and reduce production costs. Initially by 2019 Volkswagen linked 3 plants, but now it plans to expand the project to 15 plants. Volkswagen Industrial Cloud provides standardized ways to collect manufacturing plant data, and use the data to provide predictive maintenance information and reduction of vehicle rework though the use of Artificial Intelligence applications. Data from several hundred thousand machines and manufacturing plant items will be recorded by sensors, and fed into the AI…

HONDA RECYCLES AND FINDS NEW USES FOR OLD HONDA HYBRID BATTERIES

Honda Hybrids are pretty popular, and Honda manufactures plenty of them. As those vehicles age, so do their hybrid batteries. At some point, they need to be replaced. At Made in Japan/USA/Europe we offer broad range of Honda Hybrid services, and we also do Honda hybrid battery replacements. With all those used hybrid batteries piling up, Honda decided to find a way to recycle and reuse them. In Europe it expanded its partnership with a major European recycling company – SNAM. They will evaluate used hybrid batteries and divide them based on the state – if they are still viable – they will be used for electrical storage for homes and businesses. If they are dead, they will be recycled.…

HONDA HELPS STUDENTS LEARN NEXT GENERATION MANUFACTURING

Volkswagen continues to expand its electric vehicle (EV) commitments. As it continues the $800 million investment in the Chattanooga TN plant, it also ramps up training for those working in the high-voltage environment. Training ranges from 2 weeks to 6 months, depending on the jobs involved. Training will involve working in high-voltage environment, working with high-voltage batteries, and robotics. Volkswagen plans to start producing electric vehicles at the Chattanooga plant starting in 2022. It’s a part of VW commitment to building millions of electric vehicles in this decade. Workers will receive training onsite, but they will also travel to the Volkswagen plant in former East Germany, where Volkswagen is already producing its Volkswagen ID.3 electric vehicle. We are thrilled to…

But it is good to be forewarned. Moreover, at Made in Europe, we suggest following…

VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT

Volkswagen Passat – Great Vehicle if You Avoid 2002 or 2003 model At Made in Europe we are big fans of Volkswagen vehicles. They combine German engineering with practicality and non-nonsense performance. Volkswagen Passat is one of the VWs we really like. In general it garners positive reviews form owners. The only exceptions were the 2002 and 2003 models – they suffered from engine failure due to oil sludge. Even use of synthetic oil did not always protect from the problem. Fortunately, most Passat models are fairly problem free and can provide reliable transportation. At Made in Japan, we highly recommend regular service, and following manufacturer maintenance schedule. Regular service not only prolongs engine and tire life, but also provides…
